The house is surrounded by beautiful tall Hapuu Tree Ferns and large Ohia Trees.   Relax on the outside porch having your morning or afternoon coffee listening to the birds sing and the wind in the trees.  Very peaceful and tranquil.

 The sunken living room looks out to the private forest.  There is cable TV, lots of games for the kids, a wood-burning fireplace, and wireless-internet ( as of 5/1/09). 

There is a nice office desk overlooking the living room.  A perfect place if you are bringing  your computer and need to check on email or just for writing all those postcards from Hawaii the people back home ask for.  

 
 
The Apapane Lodge is named after the "Apapane Bird" that lives in the tree tops of the Ohia Forest surrounding this home.  Their bright red color make them a beautiful bird to watch.

 

The Master bedroom has a King size bed and a nice little sitting area from both of which you can see the lush green forest surrounding the house.

 

The dining room ( like every room) overlooks the forest outside. Have a great breakfast and enjoy the sounds of the tropical forest right outside your window.  A truly magical place to be.

The dining room is open to the kitchen so you can always be in communication with your family's chef....

The "Koa Wood" Kitchen is very unique. 
Koa Wood is a very rare wood only from Hawaii, so it is very special. 

The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove/oven, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher, double sink, full size refrigerator / freezer, and all pots, pans, dishes, utensils you may need.
